AI & the latest wedding-planning tools (without the hype)

· ~6 min

There’s a new “AI wedding” product every week. Here’s a practical map of where automation helps — and where a human still wins.

Guest photos, videos & highlight reels

This is Togetherly’s lane: a private vault for guest originals, then chapter / highlight films built from what people actually shot. AI helps with sorting, pacing, and first-cut reels; humans still matter for taste and “that one speech clip.” Soft launch — try a couple space when you want; packages can wait.

Planning assistants

Chat-style planners and checklist apps (many layered on Zola, The Knot, Joy, or standalone GPTs) are good for draft timelines, vendor questions, and “what am I forgetting?” Treat output as a starting memo — venues, caterers, and your coordinator still own reality.

Seating & floor plans

Tools that auto-suggest tables from relationships / RSVP tags save hours on draft one. Always do a human pass for family politics, accessibility, and “please don’t seat those two together.”

Timelines & day-of run-of-show

Shared digital timelines (planner apps, Notion, Google Docs + reminders) beat a paper packet that dies in the suite. Automation shines for pushing cue times to photo, band, and wedding party — not for inventing your ceremony length.

RSVP & texting automation

Website RSVPs plus guest messaging (Zola, Joy, The Knot, WedTexts) cut down on spreadsheet chaos. Use automation for reminders and the morning-after capture link; keep replies personal when someone has a real question.

Music & design helpers

Playlist generators and mood-board AIs are fine for direction — “warm desert evening,” “disco after 10.” Final song lists and print design still need your ear and a designer who knows bleed marks. Don’t let a model pick the first-dance song without listening.

Rule of thumb: use AI where volume hurts (guest media, first-cut film, draft seating, reminder texts). Keep humans where taste and relationships matter (vows, family, vendor trust, final edit).

A sane stack for 2026
