Skip the QR code: better ways to collect guest photos

· ~5 min

QR cards look tidy on a place setting. They also quietly lose half the weekend. Here’s why we don’t lead with them — and what to do instead.

Why QR codes under-collect

At a full wedding, guests are dancing, hugging, holding drinks, and living in the moment. Asking them to scan a tiny square on a table tent mid-celebration fights every instinct of the night.

QR can be a nice backup on a welcome board. It should not be the main plan for a 200–500 guest weekend.

What works better: a morning-after text

Send a short guest link the morning after — when people are scrolling their camera roll and smiling. One tap opens the upload page. No app. No scan. No table tent scavenger hunt.

Sample text: “Thank you for an incredible weekend 💛 Here’s our private link to share any photos or videos you took — keep the page open on Wi‑Fi while they upload: usetogetherly.com/your-slug”

Best practices that actually fill the vault

Where Togetherly fits

Togetherly is a private guest vault plus chapter films — guests open a link, originals land for you in minutes, and the highlight reel follows in hours. Soft launch: create a couple space when you’re ready. No pressure to pick a package tonight.
